Díana Thompson holds a Master of Music degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Music degree from Augusta State University, both in vocal performance. She has performed the roles of Amy from Adamo's opera Little Women, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Miss Silverpeal in Die Schauspieldirektor, Millie in Picnic, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas, Sister Genevieve in Suor Angelica, and Yvette/Georgette in La rondine.
Upcoming performances include performing the role of Zerbinetta from Richard Strauss' opera Ariadne auf Naxos with the Singers' Theatre of Washington in January 2014.
Díana is also member of the American Spiritual Ensemble and has performed with the Augusta Opera, Greenville Light Opera Works, Charleston Chamber Opera, Charleston Chamber Orchestra, the Martina Arroyo Prelude to Performance program, and the Singers of Cary.
In addition to opera, Díana has also been a soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah, Bach's Cantata 4, Haydn's Mass in Time of War, Vivaldi's Magnificat, excerpts from Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, and Beethoven's Choral Fantasy.
